Continuous Enrollment

Last year 92% of eligible ECA families returned for this current school year.  For the past few years we’ve been trying to make re-enrollment easier.  We’ve gone from paper re-enrollment to online re-enrollment.  We’ve even try to streamline the online re-enrollment to require less information each year, but we don’t feel we’ve done enough to help simplify the whole process for our families.  That is why this year we will be going to Continuous Enrollment.  So instead of opting in every year, we will assume your child/ren will be coming back to ECA every year, unless you tell us otherwise.  We hope you will like this new process and it will free up time for you to spend with your family.

So after this year, what will "Re-enrollment" look like?
Once our ECA families are on Continuous Enrollment, they will receive a communication reminder every February informing them to notify us, in writing, before the end of March, if they might be leaving ECA the following year.  The only thing our current families will need to do, is to let us know which tuition payment plan they will want for the upcoming school year.

What is the penalty if I break the contract?
ECA families that break the contract by un-enrolling their child/ren after March 31 will be contractually obligated to pay $250 per child.  While this penalty may seem steep, many schools require a month’s tuition, a semester’s tuition and some schools even require the full year tuition be paid.  Of course, if you let us know before March 31, there will be no penalty.

But what about unique circumstances? What if God has other plans for my family?
We have built some flexibility into this contract.  So, for major life changes/unique circumstances, like those listed below, there will be no financial penalty assessed.

  • Moving/relocating 40 minutes (one way) from Elkhart Christian Academy.
  • Other family circumstances as approved by the school board.
  • Educational needs can no longer be met for the student, as determined by the ECA Administration.
  • Un-enrolled at the request of Elkhart Christian Academy.

What will the Continuous Enrollment Contract look like?

Elkhart Christian Academy Continuous Enrollment Contract

I hereby opt for Continuous Enrollment.  This means that my ECA student will keep coming back to ECA every year unless I notify the school otherwise.

I understand that I have until the end of March every year to notify the Elkhart Christian Academy enrollment office, in writing, of any changes in my plans of enrollment for my child/ren.  Each year, during the month of February, ECA will send both an email and a letter reminding families to “opt-out” if necessary.

If I un-enroll my child/ren after March 31, I understand that I will be contractually obligated to pay $250, per child, as a penalty.

Elkhart Christian Academy recognizes that family plans change.  There may be unique circumstances (such as the following) that will exempt families who are un-enrolling to be exempt from the $250 penalty.

What do I get out of this?
  • Simplicity
  • Guaranteed placement.  With increasing enrollment, we are either at or near capacity in many of our grades. By opting into continuous enrollment, you’ll be locking down that coveted seat for your child until graduation.
  • No re-enrollment fee.
How do I sign up for this?
An email will be sent from the Enrollment Office giving you step-by-step instructions through the process.  It will only take a few minutes.  You’ll have until March 31, 2017 to complete it.

“ECA’s family of teachers, administrators, and coaches prioritize and model Matthew 28:19 as they mentor and disciple our boys to be servant-leaders in and outside of the classroom.  The true, spiritual character of ECA’s family is never more clear than when students volunteer in the community, interact with other school’s sport’s teams, and come alongside families in crisis.”

“We can’t really express the benefit of Mr. Casaletto listening to Lucas talk about spiritual goals, or the teachers who have emailed to say they are praying for Tony and our family, or Mr. Dregits praying for us with 3 high school students in the Bristol cafe.  Words do not adequately describe what that means to us.”
