Life is full of transitions. Transitioning from elementary into middle school and then from middle school into high school is one of the most critical transitions in a student’s life. Initially, this transition can seem a little overwhelming seeing how the middle school operates so much differently than the elementary. There are new teachers, new classrooms, greater diversity of coursework, a new social hierarchy, and more self-directed responsibility and accountability.
Students are not the only ones who find the transition a little difficult to navigate. Parents often feel the new and different pressures that come with having a middle school student. ECA’s middle school teachers understand the transitional nature of the process and desire to provide the appropriate guidance in order that students are prepared to make that next transitional step into high school.
